The Judicial Service Committee has responsibilities for:
- Advising the Governor in nominating persons for appointment as the Chief Judge of the High Court of the State, and the President of the Customary Court of Appeal.
- Advising the Governor on the appointment of Judges of High Courts in the State, and Judges of the Customary Courts.
- Recommending to the Governor the removal from office the Judicial Officers specified in the paragraph above and exercise disciplinary control over such officers.
- Appointing and exercising disciplinary control over the Chief Registrar and Deputy Chief Registrar of the High Court, and the Chief Registrar of the Customary Court, and the Magistrates, Judges, and Members of the Customary Courts.
