The Executive Governor's / Cabinet Office has responsibilities for:

  • Control and supervision of all Staff in the Executive Governor's Office

  • Encouraging social and economic activities directed towards the general development of women
  • Inspiring women to play more dynamic role in all spheres of national development
  • Assisting and encouraging female social groups and professionals to sponsor projects in the fields of adult literacy, social services, economic development, consumer services, health, co-operatives, family planning, day-care programmes, etc.
  • Conducting research into needs and problems peculiar to women and finding appropriate solution to them
  • Mobilizing and stimulating women positively in performance of their civic responsibilities and co-ordinating all women programmes
  • To recruit/pool together the required staff of the State Legislature
  • To train staff in order to equip them with adequate expertise for the running of the House of Assembly
  • To plan and ensure that necessary infrastructure and other equipment are in place for the smooth take-off and running of the Legislature
  • Establishment matters including staff complements, gradings, including co-ordination of the grading in the Civil Service and Parastatals, Conditions of Service, Appointments, Discipline, Absorption, Advancements, Upgrading, Determination of Seniority, Incrementals Credits and enhanced entry points
  • Pensions and Gratuities
  • Salaries, Wages, Allowances, Compensations, Pay Research, Salary Reviews, Conditions of Services including Implementation and continuous review of the State Civil Service Rules and Regulations for appointments, promotion and discipline.
